What a show

So this morning in Singapore or should I say last night in NYC, the Twittersphere was abuzz with tweets that read, 'Huge turnout of @HM and @Versace from NY fashion crowd: Joseph Altuzarra, Alex Wang, Sophie Theallet, Eddie Borgo and every major editor', 'Ke$ha, Blake Lively, Chace Crawford, Brian Atwood, Hamish Bowles @Hanneli, Amanda Hearst all @H&M/Versace Show (and lots we can't see)', 'Donatella says it's time to party'... and yes the list of tweets go on.

Sadly, I was on a crowded train, squashed amidst the morning traffic on my way to work. My sources tell me that over 500 special guests were invited to the show at a specially designed building on the Hudson River. It was a glamorous event in true Versace style with Prince and Nicky Minaj hitting the stage to perform at the after-party which was definitely not to be missed.

So while I'm here in Singapore wishing I could somehow teleport myself back in time and to this awesome party, I'll make do with this video which shows us what happened in NYC last night. Well, part of it anyway.

By Invite Only's 2nd Anniversary

Fir and I braved the downpour on Thursday evening to attend BIO's 2nd anniversary and launch of their new collection 'The Higher Being' held at A Curious Teepee.

The collection comprised of pieces made from precious stones and was modern and simple. These pieces looked better in reality, reflecting light off their faceted surfaces. Glimmering and sparkling, each piece of jewelry was eye-catching in its own way.

Our favorite pieces were laid out on a bare wooden table, a huge rainbow quartz stones served as pendants to gold chains peppered with tiny triangles and teardrop embellishments. From a distance, these black rocks looked almost normal, but as I came closer, they seemed to have a magical property, shining in a different colour when I looked at it from different angles.

Prices for jewelry adorned with larger precious stones range from about $100 to $350. However, The Higher Being collection is an extensive one, having more affordable pieces that start from $69.

Cupcakes and vodka were provided for guests at the party, as they mingled in the cosy cafe area at A Curious Teepee. We hung out with our friends from Fever Avenue, munched on cupcakes and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, and lounge-y tunes courtesy of the DJ at A Curious Teepee. Unfortunately, both Fir and myself had to rush off and I didn't manage to buy myself a lovely crystal necklace. Looks like I'm going to head back there to get my hands on one of the pieces soon.

Topshop Knightsbridge Pre-Opening Party: Our First Fashion Event

Last week, the F word was happy to be invited to Topshop Knightbridge’s pre-opening party where we managed to score an exclusive preview of their new flagship store. The new Topshop Knightsbridge outlet is currently the largest Topshop flagship outlet outside of UK and US, and will stock the very best of Topshop’s mainline, footwear and accessories collections plus Boutique and Unique.

A red carpet along with a photographer welcomed all guests to the event by snapping their shots as they entered the spanking new store.

In attendance of the party were many well-heeled and stylish guests, all dressed to kill.

In addition, roving cameras moved through the store to capture guests. They were featured live on television screens, so you could catch the action on every level of the store.

Topshop also served up delectable finger food in the form of pretty cupcakes, canapés and popcorn.

And what’s a party without some booze and music? Cocktails were served along with some pretty hot bartenders while guests shopped and partied to the music by DJ Adam Ficek.

But the star of the party had to be the clothes. This avant garde grey dress along with a cute sapphire romper and gorgeous satin pants with an interesting hook and eye detail were just a few of the many things we coveted.

Definitely, a memorable party to mark the F word’s first ever fashion event.
