Stylist for a day

So yesterday, I had an opportunity to guest style for Dressabelle's collection, and it was lots of fun. It was my first time styling a photo shoot, and it took me awhile to get used to multi-tasking and meeting the time constraints. I just went into the studio and dived straight into the racks of clothes, shelves of accessories and pile of shoes. What made it really easy was the friendly (and crazy) Dressabelle team, Joelle, JJ (Mr. Photographer), Jiawen and of course, the sweet and bubbly model, Priscilla. Here's a behind the scenes look at the shoot.

H&M's styling session with bloggers

H&M has always been teaming up with bloggers, and this collaboration with the opinion leaders of the Web sphere looks set to be a long term relationship.

Recently, H&M has just teamed up with 2 (or rather 3) bloggers from acclaimed UK fashion blogs WishWishWish and Yin and Yang, getting them to pick and style their favorite pieces from H&M's Divided range. Now, you can get your style fix from these short videos below that have been produced with these bloggers.

Carrie from WishWishWish who lives and studies in London, is a blogger who loves her head gear - she confesses that she's never seen without her hats! I like Carrie's quirky and cute style especially and the way she pairs socks or stockings with her outfit. Her bowler hat and sequinned beret definitely adds some interest to the outfit.

The Yin and Yang duo, Niran and Ernest, are both students studying Creative Advertising (sounds like a really cool course to be studying) at London's most prestigious art school, UAL. Their blog covers a mish-mash of things such as streetstyle, fashion, music and art, and now has become a lifestyle brand with a whole team of contributors. Look out for Niran's and Ernest's choice of shoes in the video which are really dope.

Get that Modern Classic with H&M: Part 1

Photobucket

Preppy dressing takes on a whole new meaning with H&M's new Modern Classics collection for men. Expect updated wardrobe essentials as suiting is in focus this season and vivid colours bring a fresh touch to matching cotton slacks or knitwear. Paired with crisp shirts, tweeds and flannels, the look is instantly classic and modern.

Who better to tell us how to style a modern classic look than Tom Stubbs, one of the most well-known menswear stylists who championed the return of the suit and that trend continues today?

According to Tom Stubbs, there is a new hunger for structure, dignity and tailoring, a departure from the slouchiness of the decade. This A/W 2011 will see pinstripes, tweed and three-piece-suits in a modern fit for the younger generation who want to sharpen their look whilst remaining trendy and chic.

Now all Singaporeans can enjoy and own such gorgeous pieces from H&M. As you have probably realised, Fal and I are over the moon that H&M is here.
Still unsure if you want to partake in the renaissance of the classics? Still afraid of wearing a suit and looking dated (like some uncle)? Spend the next 5 mins with Tom Stubbs and model Benj and you'll find that it isn't that difficult to update your look with H&M's new Modern Classics collection.

Inspired? We sure hope so. Watch this space for what we think about these styling tips. Till then, let's just say, enjoy H&M.

Stevie Dance

Stevie Dance first caught my attention with this photo taken by Garance Dore. Photobucket
She's a gorgeous freelance stylist from Australia who's got a laidback chic that just works. Her style is effortless and she carries herself with such a sexy confidence that I wish I had too. Workwise, her styling for the editorials on Russh magazine is absolutely breathtaking. It's devastating that she's left Russh but I'm sure Stevie will continue to deliver her unique sense of style wherever she goes. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Did I mention that I absolutely adore her name?
