Anna Dello Russo for H&M

So word is out that Anna Dello Russo is designing a collection of accessories for H&M. This collection will feature jewellery, shoes, bag, sunglasses and a trolley (?) and will be available at H&M stores around the world on 4 October 2012.

If you have the ADR syndrome, i.e. obsessive love for all things bling, you're going to love this collection. Watch a video of ADR talking about the inspiration for her collection and check out her Accessories Bibliothèque (home) here.

'They make a great sound... that bling-bling sound, it's a great sound because it's a therapeutic sound' - ADR on jewellery.

AL(DO) RISE

All rise for ALDO's new collaboration with designers. RISE is ALDO's way of supporting, promoting and celebrating talent in the fashion community and it's great to see yet another high street brand joining the bandwagon of high fashion + high street collabs, this time in the form of shoes. Fashion is indeed no longer a commandment, but a collaboration.

Designers collaborating with ALDO include JW Anderson, Preen, Libertine, Faster by Mark Fast, Cushine Et Ochs and Christian Cota. However, there will only be a few designers featured in ALDO RISE's SS12 collection, namely Preen, JW Anderson, Faster by Mark Fast and Libertine.

I'm not quite sure if ALDO Singapore carries all these designers, but I've seen some Preen and JW Anderson shoes in stores already.

JW Anderson - Eakins
Faster by Mark Fast - Cregger
Libertine - Allor

And if you can't get them in the stores, you can always get the shoes on ASOS.com

I am utterly smitten with Preen's shoes - the chunky block heels and bright colours. I can't decide which I like more - Paider or Giffee, but both are so modern and bold.

Preen - Giffee

Preen - Paider

Now its time to rise to the occasion and get those heels.

Loot of the month

Two weeks ago, I joined in the madness which surrounded the launch of the much awaited designer collabs - Marni x H&M and Mary Katrantzou for Topshop as well as the Topshop NEWGEN collection.

I queued, braved the crowds and emerged victorious with awesome buys (more so for the Marni x H&M collection), and I couldn't be more satisfied.

Marni x H&M was total chaos with every batch of shoppers limited to 10 minutes of shopping time. As you can imagine, it was more of a grab and go affair. I'm glad I got everything I wanted and I was lucky enough to get my hands on the last set of Marni x H&M necklaces in Singapore. Very proud of myself.

While the Mary K for Topshop and Topshop NEWGEN collection was a more subdued affair; no queueing required, all of Mary K's dresses, tops and pants were sold out in a matter of 10 minutes. And missing from the racks of Topshop's NEWGEN collection were the Erdem t-shirts and Mary K t-shirts. I only managed to catch a glimpse of the Mary K t-shirt before it was tucked under the arm of a lucky shopper who got there first. At least Topshop handed me a Mary K for Topshop tote which had Mary K's signature floral prints on it. That made me feel a tad bit better. I did however, get myself the Marios Schwab and J.W. Anderson tees. I'm loving the prints on these tees and not regretting the buy one bit.

MARNI at H&M

Just as everyone is recovering from the aftermath of Versace for H&M (by that I mean the damage on their purses and all the elbow-shoving from trying to get a piece of Versace heaven), H&M has just announced today that it will tie-up with MARNI for its Spring/Summer 2012 designer collaboration.

I can already hear the applause and shouts of joy from the millions of H&M fans who are probably thrilled with this news. Spring/Summer 2012 is the perfect time to tie-up with MARNI as fans can expect full-fledged tribal prints and Bauhaus graphics which are colourful and playful.

The collection will be launched on 8 March 2012. Mark that date on your calendar folks. I know I'm going to be in line for this one.

From the BOB Trunk Show: Atelier Swarovski

Swarovski has always been synonymous with crystal jewelry and accessories that are delicate and simple, which aren't big on designs. But did you know that Swarovski has a more upmarket line geared towards high fashion?

Photobucket Little known to most people including Fir and myself, this line, aptly named Atelier Swarovski, collaborates with renowned designers such as Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler, Rodarte, Karl Lagerfeld, Viktor & Rolf, Jonathan Saunders, Christopher Kane and most recently Mark Fast. Atelier Swarovski remains true to the brand by encouraging designers to explore the different possibilities of using crystals. As such, every collection features innovative and cutting edge designs, with almost limited edition pieces, since the designer for the Atelier line gets renewed every season.

Fir and I were lucky enough to preview the Atelier Swarovski S/S 2012 collection at the BOB Trunk Show. Big bold statement necklaces and cuffs were featured with the former encrusted with crystals galore and the latter embellished with large crystals.

Fir took a liking to the necklace below, while I took to this gorgeous clutch.

In the saturated market where costume jewelry is abound, its nice to know that there are other options available and Atelier Swarovski is one of them.

Christian Siriano for Payless

Its been about 2 months since Payless opened its first outlet in Singapore. The shoe store, or should I say, shoe source, carries a range of shoe brands that are both affordable and trendy. It brings to Singapore a unique shoe shopping experience - shoes are shelved according to different sizes, so it is a self-service way of shopping for shoes.

PhotobucketPayless also teams up with designers, and this time its celebrity designer, Christian Siriano. He's probably more famously known as the youngest winner of Project Runway, and for his 'bitchy' and hilarous quips on the show. The talented young designer injects his 'fieeerce' style in this collection, with booties and stilettos gilded with gold and silver buckles and embellishment. I'm currently into these faux animal skin pumps with a gold tip. Don't expect anything too high fashion though, as Siriano has clearly designed for the mass market in this collaboration with Payless. However, what you can look forward to is affordable prices starting from just $34.90 Singapore dollars.

Payless also has another collaboration with Lela Rose, which has several pairs of preppy and pretty mary-jane heels and booties. The shoes look like something that Alexa Chung would wear, and once again, prices are kept low so they won't burn a hole in your pocket.
