Who is Vogue Paris' Successor?

The fashion world was tweeting, blogging and updating their facebook statuses furiously when news broke that Carine Roitfeld, editor-in-chief, was leaving (or was fired, whichever you prefer to believe) the magazine. The next question that was on everyone's lips was, 'Who's going to take her place?'

Well the answer's out now, Emmanuelle Alt, the magazine's fashion director is going to be entrusted with the role of helming the French style bible. The 43 year old stylist has been with the magazine since late 2000 and has collaborated with Roitfeld for a long time, working with her previously at another French magazine, 20 Ans. Her credentials? She's worked as a stylist for top designers like Isabel Marant, Gucci, Balmain and Balenciaga. In addition, her edgy style has won her near-universal praise from style bloggers and other tastemakers. There will be no radical change under Alt's succession, and the change will be effective February 1. Look out for Alt's name on Vogue Paris masthead in the April issue.
