Recuperation

Between an old job and a new one, I'm taking some time to recuperate. Soothing my burnt out mind and soul, finding inspiration I lost along the way, and just living life again (:

Here are some of the things that I've been up to.

Cooking up a storm
I've been in the kitchen a bit, trying out new recipes and putting my oven to full use. Its nice to get in touch with my culinary side, and I really miss cooking and baking every week - what I used to do nearly everyday when I was in Denmark!

Lychee rose cupcakes

Travelling
Just got back from a short getaway to Ho Chi Minh and it was a blast! Its always great to experience a totally different way of life in another country, and Ho Chi Minh is such a lively, vibrant city. From the crazy traffic, markets, cafes, architecture with French colonial influence and laid back backpacker's vibe in Pham Ngu Lao ward, awesomeeee.

Clearing my wardrobe (aka making space for new clothes!)
Yes, its time to make space for new things! My wardrobe is getting terribly messy, and its time to rid it of pieces that I can hardly fit into any longer. It's also time to ditch my corporate uniform.

To make space, I'll be selling pieces from my wardrobe, some of which are brand new! Here's a preview of what's up for sale! More pictures tomorrow, and I promise you crazy prices and great stuff.

Fashion week goes online

Vogue has just made fashion history with its first ever Online Fashion Week. I'm really curious to see how this is going to pan out, but Vogue has promised a really exciting showcase of online activities that is sure to keep you glued to your screens. Hundreds of retailers have come on board to offer exclusive and limited edition collections, stunning competitions and never-seen-before content. I'm definitely not going to miss out on the special online events, prizes, discounts and free gifts.

All these activities are going to take place on Vogue's OFW blog in which there will be live-blogging 24-hours-day for five full days. The line up of designers include Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Mulberry, Stella McCartney, Prada, Burberry, Miu Miu and Christain Louboutin. High street brands such as Topshop, Reiss, Gap and Urban Outfitters have also been roped in.

The idea of taking Fashion Week online is simply brilliant, since people from around the globe can now participate in the event without feeling left out. I've listed a few of OFW highlights throughout the week (all timings are in local Singapore time):

Mon, 5 Dec, 9:00pm

Advice From The Top

Top industry figures reflect on their career successes and offer advice on how you can get started in the industry.

Tues, 6 Dec, 9:30pm

HANDBAG HALF HOUR: Anya Hindmarch on Twitter

Handbag designer Anya Hindmarch will be taking part in a Twitter takeover - answering all of your questions via @BritishVogue.

Wed, 7 Dec, 11:00pm

Leon Bailey-Green will be unveiling his annual Online Fashion 100 exclusively on VOGUE.COM during Online Fashion Week. The list names the 100 most influential figures in the digital fashion industry. Come back at 3pm on Wednesday 7th December to see it here.

Ready your phones, computers and iPads because you don't want to miss this extravaganza. Online Fashion Week kicks off in a few hours - 9.36am today! Click here to visit the OFW blog.

My Club21 loot

Here's what I got at the very awesome Club21 Bazaar Sale last weekend.

From left to right: Emporio Armani maxi-skirt, Dries van Noten wrap skirt and (Mom's) Dries van Noten floral blouse

Loving my buys to pieces, and I can't wait to wear them out. I love the Emporio Armani skirt because it has this unique swallow tail-ish hem.

As for my Dries van Noten wrap skirt, what can I say? The printed fabric is simply awesome.

The Club21 Bazaar Sale

If you missed the first 2 days of the Club21 Bazaar Sale, don't fret because there's still one more day left to grab all the designer garbs that are going for up to 90% off! Here's what I spotted during my shopping trip there.

Marni, D&G, Marc Jacobs and ck Calvin Klein footwear. There was some serious snatching and hustling here!

Lingered a little longer at the Balenciaga rack. Just two of the covetable items that were hanging on the rack!

Expect big brands like Emporio Armani, DKNY, Acne, Thakoon and 3.1 Phillip Lim at the sale. The Club21 Bazaar sale is located at the F1 Pit Building, and will be open from 10am - 6pm. Remember, its the last day today!

This Week's Loot

This week's featured loot was actually from the Pedder Sale 2 weeks ago, but I hope that you'll forgive me for such a late post because I've been so busy with work. This was my first Pedder Sale, but what an experience! There were very covetable shoes from brands like Lanvin, Sam Edelman, Sergio Rossi, Pierre Hardy and yes, the list goes on. Women were practically grabbing shoes like they were free, and I spotted one lady with at least 6 shoes boxes in her arms. There were drool-worthy bags too, with brands like Valentino, Anya Hindmarch, Marni and more being offered. As for myself, I walked away with two pairs of gladiator sandals, from Sigerson Morrison and Modern Vintage.

Now all I need to do is to find space in my shoe cabinet.
